b If you are unsure of what you are doing go with caution ! This command with the wrong path could wipe your Mac with very little chance of recovery !
When running srm take a while to do it's thing so if you watch the folder you will see the files vanish !!! (securely !)
As you say you colud set it up to run via iCal ( just create a new Calender with your scripts in then hide it!) or you can save the Automator workflow as an App and get it to run via cron, see CronniX for an easier solution.
